How Insurance Works in Home Birth Midwifery Care
PPO Insurances
We partner with a medical biller, to help you receive the highest possible reimbursement for the care you receive. She will provide a SUPERBILL at the end of your care. The biller will help you get a Verification of Benefits and an In Network Exception. Billing support is included in your homebirth fee.
You’ll be charged a single, inclusive global maternity fee that covers:

-
All prenatal visits
-
Labor and birth care
-
Postpartum visits
-
Birth kit and equipment setup in your home

After your birth, the biller will give you a Superbill to send to your PPO insurance for the professional services provided throughout your care. Some families receive partial reimbursement after their six-week postpartum visit.

Coverage and reimbursement amounts vary based on your specific benefits. You can contact your insurance company or log in to your insurance portal to review your coverage. Our biller is also available to help you make sense of it all—feel free to email her at info@birthlocal.com
You're welcome to reach out to me directly to talk through your situation.
